Few sales in the world can boost Classic’s remarkable record in producing champions on the racecourse, such as Choisir, Silent Witness and Whobegotyou.

Group One winners this year from Classic have been Ilovethiscity, Manawanui, Sincero, Secret Admirer, The Verminator and Hurtle Myrtle.

At a bargain average price of $30,000 Classic’s record of unearthing future stars is exceptional.

Inglis’ Bloodstock team aim to select precocious physical types for Classic that will grow into tough sprinter-milers that suit local conditions.

“The type of yearling entered for Classic continues to improve every year and it is very pleasing to see our loyal buyers being rewarded on the racetrack each season, especially with the progeny of young sires,” said Inglis Sydney Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

Manawanui (Oratorio (IRE)), Secret Admirer (Dubawi (IRE)), Chance Bye (Snitzel), Hurtle Myrtle (Dane Shadow) & Pressday (Domeday) were all purchased from the first or second crop of their respective sires at Classic, who will again be well represented in 2012 with 10 or more yearlings each.

22 First Season Sires will be represented with progeny in next year’s Classic catalogue, headed by Henrythenavigator (19 lots), Northern Meteor (14), Duke Of Marmalade (12), Murtajill (10), Mutawaajid (10), War Pass (10), Ready’s Image (9) and Teofilo (8).

Grahame Begg’s $900,000 earner Ilovethiscity has been a wonderful ambassador for his sire Magic Albert this year, highlighted by the $40,000 Classic buy’s Group 1 ATC Randwick Guineas victory.

Magic Albert leads the sires list by representation at Classic in 2012, with 24 progeny heading to the January showcase, closely followed by Classic graduate and Australian-bred pioneer Choisir with 23 yearlings catalogued.

Widden Stud have strong record at Classic, having sold Group One winners Whobegotyou, Triple Honour and Typhoon Zed at the sale, and the Valley of Champions leads the vendors list for the 2012 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale with 43 lots.

John North’s Bowness Stud will bring 20 yearlings to Classic next year, Carramar Park 20, Murrulla Stud 18, Golden Grove 17, Patinack Farm 17 and Emirates Park 16.

“With over 100 stallions represented in the catalogue there is something for everyone at Classic in January”, Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said

“Pinhookers have plenty of success buying at Classic to sell later on in the year to overseas glory, such as New Zealand Group One winner Tell A Tale and Malaysian Group One winner Blue Tosca.

“There is also plenty of upside for local trainers and owners that attend the sale, with 89% of the yearlings catalogued BOBS and BOBS Extra eligible.

“All yearlings offered at Classic are eligible for nomination into the $2.6million Inglis Race Series, like Joan Pracey’s $18,000 buy Upstacker who has won $110,000 in Inglis Race Series prizemoney and bonuses for his connections so far this year”, Webster added.
