Biggles Win a Boon for Classic

Talented Jet Spur three year-old Biggles snared his first Black Type success in the Listed BRC Gold Edition Plate at Eagle Farm, the victory throwing the spotlight on his yearling half-brother who is headed for the 2012 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

The Noel Doyle prepared gelding took his record to four wins and a second from just the eight career starts after lodging a successful protest to gain the win and there is little question he is a horse going places very quickly.

"It was an enormous run and I was always confident we would get the protest,” Doyle said after the stewards took very little time to uphold the objection. "It is amazing to think he could pick himself up and then attack the line as strongly as he did after his momentum was completely stopped inside the furlong.

"He's a very good horse and there will be a big race or two in him before he finishes racing you can mark my words.

"He just keeps improving, taking the next step and nothing seems to faze him.

"He is very typical of the Jet Spur's that I have seen and I wouldn't swap him for one other horse in the land heading towards this 3YO Magic Millions race.

"If we have a trouble free run into it, I am sure he will be ready to peak on the day as there is still improvement in him.

"We will probably have the one more run and that will be in the ($150,000 G3) Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) on New Year's Eve.”

Biggles is the first stakes-winner for his dam Be Faithful, who has been a consistent producer with seven foals to race all winners.

A daughter of Last Tycoon (IRE), she comes from the famed Best in Show female family through the Minnie Hauk branchj featuring Group I winners Chief Contender, Aviance, Chimes of Freedom and Denon.

The current yearling from Be Faithful is a grey colt by Bradbury's Luck, who will be offered by Jorson Farm as Lot 260 at the Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale.
