Darley to Offer 29 Racehorses in Melbourne

Next month’s Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale has been significantly boosted by Darley’s decision to use the sale as an annual reduction for a number of their racing stock.

When entries for the main catalogue closed, more than 360 entries had been received for the two day sale, which will be held at Oaklands on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 August. Supplementary entries will be taken up until 5pm Thursday 11 August.

The 2011 Darley Unreserved Racehorse Reduction Sale comprises 14 fillies and mares and 15 colts and geldings.

“We are delighted to be in a position to assist Darley who have proposed this to be the inaugural sale of what will become an annual event,” Inglis Bloodstock Consultant Simon Vivian said.

“Their presence has complemented what was already going to be a very strong sale. As we continue to see, racehorses are always popular at our Melbourne sales.”

In addition to the Darley entries, the 360 lot-strong catalogue will include a Contract Racing Reduction Sale of 13 racehorses as well as a draft from GSA Bloodstock of 9 racing prospects.

The Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale catalogue will be available online next week.

Next month’s Inglis sales calendar also includes the Inglis Scone Broodmare Sale on Friday 26 August. Entries close on Friday 15 July and entry forms can be downloaded HERE

Entries are also being taken for next year’s Inglis Select Yearling sales – Sydney Classic (22-24 January), Melbourne Premier (27 February to 1 March), Australian Easter Session 1 & 2 (10-12 April) and Melbourne Autumn (29-30 April). Entries can be submitted using the Inglis online entry facility.
