Easter Yearlings Arrive Early Next Week

The first class yearlings set to be offered at the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale will start arriving at Newmarket in Sydney early next week. Inspection of the born champions can begin from 9am on Tuesday 1 April.

Both Easter Session I and Session II offerings will be stabled together – from the first foal of Australian Champion 3YO filly Faint Perfume as Lot 1 to a colt by Australia’s current leading sire Snitzel as Lot 555.

“From start to finish there are exciting young thoroughbreds for a wide range of budgets here at Easter. We have again compiled a strict catalogue of Australasia’s best bred and conformed yearlings and would expect the same high percentage of stakes winners to come from throughout the buying spectrum that is a hallmark of Easter,” said Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

Photos and sirecam footage of many of the Easter lots are available for viewing at www.inglis.com.au and on the Inglis Sales iPad App

Widden Stud will bring the largest draft to the 2014 Easter Sale with 40 yearlings, including siblings to Dissident, Nicconi, Maldivian and Fiveandahalfstar.

Coolmore Stud have 33 yearlings to parade for buyers at this year’s sale, while Arrowfield have 30 to offer and Kitchwin Hills are bringing 22 yearling to Sydney next week.

Other vendors with 10 or more yearlings to sell at Newmarket on 8, 9 & 10 April are Vinery Stud (19 lots), Kia-Ora Stud (18), Newgate Farm (18), Broadwater Thoroughbreds (16), Sledmere Stud (15), Newhaven Park (14), Torryburn Stud (14), Yarraman Park Stud (14), Milburn Creek (12), Attunga Stud (11), Luskin Park Stud (11), Middlebrook Valley Lodge (11) and Emirate Park (10).

167 yearlings catalogued for 2014 Easter are from stakes winning mares - 35 of those are from Group 1 winners, just like Camarilla was when sold at Easter.

There are an additional 74 lots from stakes placed dams, just as Estelle Collection was when purchased at Easter.

Camarilla (dam of Guelph and Ghibellines) and Estelle Collection (dam of Lankan Rupee) are prime examples of how the residual value of fillies from Easter is second to none.

139 siblings to stakes winners were catalogued for Easter, but there are now 143 thanks to the recent wins of new stakes winners Interspersed, Amorino, Jazz Song and Zululand.
