Elegant Easter Update

The Group 3 Liverpool City Cup win by Triple Elegance provided an important pedigree update for next month’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

The Chris Waller trained Triple Elegance (Mossman-Mary Machree, by Quest For Fame) has been a revelation since the turn of the new year and made the transition to stakes grade here after a cavalier 6.5 lengths Rosehill win in early February.

Emerald Thoroughbreds will offer a full-brother to Triple Elegance as LOT 516 at Easter this year.

Mary Machree was a Group 2 placed mare and at stud she has produced three winners.

In Melbourne today, MASTER HARRY ($100,000 2009 Classic, 3c Magic Albert-Sri Lanka) backed up his Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes success when too good for older horses in the Listed Bob Hoysted (1000m) at Flemington.

Sold by Kanangra Stud, Master Harry is now living up to the potential he showed on debut at Flemington last March and he relished the return to the straight course today, taking his record to three wins in five starts for earnings of $260,000.

Nominatons for this year’s Scone Sale feature a Tiger Hill half-sister to Master Harry.

KING DIAMOND ($80,000 2008 Premier, 4g Danewin-Kali Smytzer) announced himself as a leading Adelaide Cup candidate when proving too strong under 58.5kg in the Listed Roy Higgins Quality.

The son of Danewin was prepared for sale by Makybe and secured by Slade Bloodstock. After showing promise as a three-year-old, he has come into his own this time in, winning four of his past five starts and his earnings now top $275,000.
