Mezeray Miss Highlights Great Value At Classic

Only 24 hours after the catalogue for the 2014 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale Summer Book was released online Mezeray Miss has highlighted the quality that can be found at the great value Classic Sale.

Mezeray Miss ($65,000 2012 Classic, 3f Artie Schiller-Aqualuna) produced a career best performance to edge out Minaj in the Listed MRC City Of Dandenong Greater Stakes at Caulfield.

The win might have come as a surprise to trainer Matt Laurie, but the tremendous value of the Inglis Classic should not.

“I wasn’t that confident coming here. We just wanted her ridden quieter so she would hit the line strong and that’s why I was surprised she was strong late given she was ridden closer,” said Laurie.

Mezeray Miss was a $65,000 purchase from the draft of Huntworth Stud at the 2012 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale. The daughter of Artie Schiller has won three times and $172,860 for her connections.

Other recent Australian stakes winners that could have been purchased from Inglis Classic for less than $65,000 include Silversands, Diamond Earth, Boss Lane, Molto Bene, Mourinho and Va Pensiero.

Buyers will be offered 480 yearlings at the 2014 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale – Summer Book on 19 & 20 January at Newmarket.
