Typhoon Tracy's Only Foal To Debut

The one and only foal of former Australian Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy (pictured) will make his debut in Melbourne on Wednesday.

Street Cry colt Last Typhoon will step out at William Hill Park Hillside in The Grand Hotel Frankston Plate over 1300 metres, a set weights maiden for three-year-olds.

He is in the care of Peter Moody, the man who guided his mother to six Group 1 victories and the horse of the year title in 2009-10.

Typhoon Tracy died giving birth to Last Typhoon and the colt will race in the red and yellow colours of Hutchins Thoroughbreds for which his mother is remembered.

Last Typhoon was a star attraction at last year’s Inglis Easter Yearling Sale and drew a bid of $2million but was passed in after breeder John Hutchins placed a $3million reserve on the colt.

Last Typhoon has not been seen at the official trials and will have Dwayne Dunn in the saddle.

Typhoon Tracy won her first five starts in succession, culminating in her maiden Group 1 success in the 2009 Coolmore Classic.

She won four Group 1s in a row the following season, claiming the Myer Classic in the spring and returning in the autumn to win the CF Orr Stakes, Futurity Stakes and Queen of the Turf Stakes.

She finished her career by winning the CF Orr Stakes for a second time in 2011.
