Zoutenant tops Spring Sale

Zoutenant unsurprisingly topped today’s Inglis Spring Thoroughbred Sale, selling for $34,000.

On a perfect spring day, buyers were keen to purchase, ensuring the sale’s clearance rate finished at a healthy 89 per cent.

Zoutenant, a restricted Listed winner and Group 2-placed gelding, had won $257,375 from 15 career starts heading into the sales ring.

In total, 36 horses sold today at an average of $7581.

Emirates Park was the leading vendor, selling all six of their draft.

Inglis’ next sale is the December Thoroughbred Sale at Oaklands in Melbourne on Friday December 9, where 95 horses are catalogued.

Another 50 horses are likely to be entered as supplementaries, of which entries close next Friday, December 2.
