All is in readiness for 2017 Classic Sale

The Newmarket Complex is prepared and yearlings are arriving for the 2017 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

The first of Inglis’ Select Yearling Sales for the year will kick off at 6pm this Saturday, February 11 following the Randwick races, which features the $250,000 Inglis Classic for 2YOs.

Progeny by over more than 100 stallions – including 15 First Season Sires – will be offered throughout the three-day Classic sale, which will see 600 horses enter the ring.

Edinburgh Park’s draft will begin inspection proceedings this morning at 9am.

Leading vendor Arrowfield will start their yearling parades from midday Tuesday and all inspections will be under way by 9am Thursday.

This year’s Classic catalogue presents an outstanding opportunity to secure the next generation of exceptional Inglis Classic graduates, such as new fairytale filly and 2016 Classic graduate She Will Reign, and members of the Class of 2015 such as Extreme Choice, Yankee Rose and I Am A Star.

For all updated sale information including withdrawn lots, pedigree updates, photos and videos go to inglis.com.au.

All yearlings offered at the sale are eligible for entry into the $5 million Inglis Race Series covering their 2YO, 3YO and 4YO racing seasons.

Saturday night’s action begins at 6pm and will feature the inaugural Gold Riband session.

The Gold Riband has been introduced as a session for select yearlings with the pedigree and conformation to exceed in the elite 2YO races.

Inglis will pay the initial Golden Slipper entry fee for each horse sold during that session, which covers Lots 61-120 on Saturday night.

Inglis will also pay a $100,000 bonus split between the named vendor and supplier of the session’s first Stakes winner.

Auctioneering on Sunday February 12 and Monday February 13 begins at 10am.
