Classic Yearlings Arrive at Newmarket

Horses have arrived and inspections have begun ahead of the 2010 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale, which begins at Newmarket this Sunday, January 24.

The two-day sale comprises 522 lots and is scheduled to start at 11am on both Sunday and Monday.

Withdrawn Lots are now also online.

The catalogue includes 20 yearlings from stakes winning dams and 23 siblings to Group or Listed winners. A total of 86% of the yearlings are BOBS eligible and all are eligible for the $2.6million Inglis Race Series and the $250,000 2011 Inglis Classic.

Classic is renowned for being a sale where astute buyers can find exceptional value.

Trainer Michael Tubman has already recouped his outlay – several times over – with exciting Snitzel filly Chance Bye, who is set to run a warm favourite in this Saturday’s $250,000 Inglis Classic. Tubman gave just $15,000 for the filly at last year’s sale.

Current flagbearer Whobegotyou was a $19,500 Classic purchase in 2007 and he has now won $2.2million.

The sale had 21 individual stakes winners in Australia last season and the group ranged in price from $10,000 up to just $120,000. New Zealand Group 1 winner Tell A Tale was secured for $40,000 out of Classic.
