Frankel yearlings set to go under Inglis hammer

Racing Post - Tuesday 24 November, 2015

Inglis has revealed five yearlings from the first southern-hemisphere crop by dual world champion Frankel will be on offer at the company's flagship Easter sale.

Frankel, unbeaten in 14 starts including ten at the highest level, covered a limited book of 21 mares to southern hemisphere time from his Banstead Manor base in 2013. Among that prestigious number were leading owner John Singleton's More Strawberries and Grade 1 winner Chocolicious - both their resulting produce will go under the hammer next year.

More Strawberries, a dual Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed, is a More Than Ready half-sister to top-flight scorer and sire All American. She delivered a colt by the sire last season, while top juvenile Chocolicious delivered a filly.

Cressfield will offer a pair of the precious commodities, a filly out of New Zealand Group 2 winner Jeu Des Cartes and a colt out of the well-related Buenos Aires.

The number is completed by a filly foal out of Mocca, the dam of Qatar Racing's Albany Stakes winner Kiyoshi, offered by Widden Stud.

The first yearlings by Frankel offered in Europe sold for a high of €1.7 million this autumn when China Horse Club secured a filly out of Alexander Goldrun. However, there were also a number of high-priced vendor buybacks, including a pair of colts bought back at 500,000gns and 350,000gns.

Only one lot by the sire was catalogued for the Tattersalls December Foal sale, but has since been withdrawn.

The Inglis Easter sale will begin its three-day run on April 5, 2016.
