Inglis Classic Summer Book Starts On Sunday

The first of 574 lots will walk into the ring at 12:00pm this Sunday at the Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale at Newmarket in Sydney. After being inundated with over 1,400 entries the Summer Book has been extended in 2015 to three days, providing buyers a great selection of yearlings by over 100 individual sires.

Sunday 8 February will see Lots 1 to 175 offered for sale from noon. Selling on Monday (Lots 175 to 390) and Tuesday (Lots 391 to 574) will both start at the earlier time of 10:00am.

Inglis’ Managing Director Mark Webster believes the popularity of Inglis Classic can be put down to the sale’s incredible accessibility to both proven sires and future champion sires before they rise through the ranks.

“We are proud that the Classic sale presents every buyer an opportunity to experience the thrill of racehorse ownership with almost endless possibilities,” said Webster.

“Horses like dual Group 1 winner Sincero, an $8,000 purchase which earned over $1.5 million on the track, and more recently Chris Waller’s star colt Brazen Beau that sold for $70,000 and has recently been secured in a multi-million dollar stud deal are just some examples of the great stories that begin at the Inglis Classic sale,” Webster said.

Among the breeders at this year’s sale are many wishing to replicate their Classic success stories from previous years, including Group 1 producing vendors Widden Stud (Whobegotyou, Triple Honour, Typhoon Zed), Murrulla Stud (Brazen Beau, Carry On Cutie), Goodwood Farm (Manawanui, Macedon Lady), Edinglassie Stud (God’s Own, Tell A Tale), Emirates Park (Vitesse Dane, County Tyrone), Torryburn Stud (Peggy Jean), Princes Farm (Fiveandahalfstar), Fairview Park Stud (Ilovethiscity), Nerreman Stud (Sincero), Arrowfield Stud (Royal Purler), Kitchwin Hills (Hurtle Myrtle) and Kooringal Stud (Russeting).

The 2015 Inglis Classic Summer Book will be broadcast on Inglis Sale Day Live, with Online Bidding and Make-An-Offer available for those buyers unable to attend the auction at Newmarket in Sydney.
