Jezabeel sibling closes out sales year at Inglis

Today’s Melbourne December Thoroughbred Sale wrapped up another successful year of sales for Inglis' clients, with Fleur de Lois, a half-sister to Melbourne Cup winner Jezabeel, taking centre stage on the final sale day.

"2011 has been a good year in the Inglis sales ring for our clients, and a fantastic year for our sales graduates on racetracks everywhere with the likes of Black Caviar, Manawanui, Igugu, Pinker Pinker, Mosheen and Foxwedge", said Inglis Melbourne Director Peter Heagney.

"We are extremely happy with the catalogues we have for next year’s Classic, Premier, and Easter Yearlings Sales and my fellow auctioneers and I look forward to those sales commencing in January", Heagney added.

By Makybe Diva’s sire Desert King from Vice Regal mare Passefleur, Fleur de Louis topped today's Melbourne Sale when selling to J Ayre of Victoria for $95,000.

There was also strong competition around for race colts and geldings, such as the well-related Pincent and lightly raced Beltonic, who were both snapped up from the Oaklands ring for $55,000 each.

Overall, 163 horses were sold today from the 179 horses offered, a clearance rate of 91%, at a gross of $1.104million.

Horses passed in during today's sale are still available via the Inglis Make an Offer service.
