Quality stands as online takes off
25th May 2018
It has been 12 months since the launch of the Inglis Digital Monthly Online Auctions and with 164 entries, the May 2018 catalogue is the second-largest offering since the inaugural online sale.
It is a bloodstock bonanza for buyers, comprising of 60 racehorses, 65 broodmares, seven yearlings, nine weanlings and two Glenlogan Stud stallions offered unreserved.
The highlights in the tried horse section include: • Augustus – 3YO Snitzel 1/2 brother to Roman Emperor. Sold for $375,000 yearling, he won on May 23 at Canterbury and is being targeted at the Gr.1 QLD Derby (offered unreserved)
• Federation – 2YO gelding by Written Tycoon, trained by Team Snowden, $340,000 yearling (offered unreserved)
• Lucky Louie – 3YO stakes placed filly Lucky Louie, trained by Gerald Ryan

• If Not Now When – 4YO Artie Shiller mare, winner of more than $300,000 in Victoria (offered unreserved)
• The Wasp – 4YO mare by Smart Missile raced by Prime Thoroughbreds
One of the standouts of the broodmare category, is the Pierro filly Chinese Wine, offered unreserved by Ingham Bloodstock.
She is an unraced half sister to dual Gr.3 winner Sadler’s Lake, while her 2YO half brother Beidi is in work with Chris Waller.
There are also broodmares by Redoute’s Choice, High Chaparral, Hinchinbrook, Beneteau, Elusive Quality, Encosta de Lago, Street Cry, Northern Meteor, Strategic and Reset.
In keeping with Glenlogan Park’s new direction of concentrating solely on producing yearlings and racehorses for the major Australian sales, the Queensland stud will offer two of its stallions for unreserved sale.
Real Saga and Jet Spur, who also stood briefly at Eureka Stud and Grandview Stud respectively, go on the market as proven sires.
A three-time Champion Queensland 2yo Sire and a regular in the Top 12 of the Australian 2YO sire ranks, Real Saga has provided 12 stakes performers to date and winners of more than $12 million in prizemoney.
He is best known as the sire of Magic Millions winner Real Surreal, but other headline progeny include Gr.3 Adrian Knox Stakes winner Candelara, recent Listed winner Sylpheed, as well as placegetters in the Australian Oaks and J.J. Atkins.
Jet Spur has been a consistent source of precocity and toughness and was recognised as Queensland’s Champion 2yo Sire in 2015.
The son of the late Flying Spur, Jet Spur has 22 stakes performers to his name, including recent Listed Chief De Beers runner-up Spurcraft.
Jet Spur is also the sire of Emmalene, Biggles, Siegfried and Mishani Honcho, a last start winner who has won just under half a million dollars in prizemoney.
