Russian Jar Tops Summer Sale

The 2011 Inglis Sydney Summer Thoroughbred Sale was conducted at Newmarket today, with Russian Jar (Xaar x Lady Windermere) topping the sale.

The former Chris Waller trained Russian Jar was sold for $27,000. The lightly raced six-year-old gelding is a dual metropolitan winner with career prize money over $115,000.

Overall, 88 horses were sold today from the 98 horses offered at a gross of $288,600 with an excellent clearance rate of 90%.

17% of the horses sold today went to online bidders with 41% of the lots offered receiving an online bid from 21 individual online bidders.

Horses passed in during today's sale are still available via the Inglis Make An Offer service.
