Ten Days Until The Next Superheros Emerge

With a legacy like that of the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, it is no wonder that with only ten days to go the industry is positively buzzing. The 2015 edition of the sale that unearthed superheroes of the turf Black Caviar, Fawkner, Snitzerland, Trust In A Gust, Sacred Kingdom and Blue Diamond favourite Foniton will begin 12 noon on Sunday 1 March.

782 lots have been carefully selected and catalogued for sale on 1, 2, 3 and 4 March, representing over 100 various sires including 22 first season sires. 110 lots are out of stakes-winning mares and 105 are half or full relations to stakes winners, including the halves to Trust In A Gust, Bel Sprinter, Sacred Kingdom, Zipping and Set For Fame.

One select Lot will carry the title of the Inglis and Herald Sun Win A Share In A Racehorse. Champion trainer Darren Weir will be selecting this year’s competition horse and has a big act to follow after Robert Smerdon last year picked out Fontiton, whose unbeaten record of three from three has secured her place as favourite for the Group 1 MRC Blue Diamond at the end of the month.
