The Star Ready2Race Breeze Up Footage Online

Following successful breeze up days at both Canterbury in New South Wales and Cranbourne in Victoria, and a further four three-year-olds completing their official barrier trials, video footage of each lot to be offered at The Star Ready2Race Sale is now available for viewing online and on the Inglis Sales iPad App.

“All vendors and riders should be commended on their preparation and professionalism, which allowed the talent and racetrack potential of each two-year-old to be showcased at the breeze ups,” said Mark Webster, Inglis Managing Director.

“With recent winners in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau the Ready2Race Sale has quickly established itself as a breeze up sale of the highest quality in the Southern Hemisphere and this year’s offerings are a tremendous bunch of exciting young racehorses,” added Webster.

Across the two breeze up days, an impressive average time of 11.42 seconds was recorded. 19 Lots breezed up in 10.99 seconds or less, a time recorded last year by Odyssey Moon (Snitzel x Run To The Moon), which went on to win the Inglis Nursery on debut at Randwick two months later.

Tatoosh (Beneteau x Miss Columbus) breezed up in 11.68 last year before The Star Ready2Race Sale. The Paul Perry trained gelding lines up as one of the favoured runners in the Group 3 NJC Spring Stakes this Friday, coming off a second placing in the Group 3 ATC Ming Dynasty last start.

“Breeze up times are a useful tool at two-year-old sales but are only part of the selection process as Michael Freedman recognised when buying subsequent Singapore Group 3 winner Snitzel Spirit from the Ready2Race Sale after the colt recorded a breeze up time of only 13.81 seconds two years ago,” adds Inglis Asia Representative Peter Twomey.

At the 2015 The Star Ready2Race Sale, six two-year-olds by I Am Invincible will be offered, with other proven sires represented including Redoute’s Choice, Snitzel, Exceed And Excel, Sebring, Hinchinbrook, Northern Meteor, Star Witness, High Chaparral, Choisir, Charge Forward, Bel Esprit, Artie Schiller and Turffontein.

Four three-year-olds have run official barrier trials, highlighted by Lot 154, the well-related Dash For Love (Dash For Cash x Young Love) which won its trial at Randwick by a length, beating several more experienced horses.

The sale will be held in just under three weeks from 11am on Tuesday 6 October at Inglis Newmarket Complex in Sydney. Inspections for The Star Ready2Race Sale will begin Sunday 4 October.
