Wowee of a Scone Yearling Sale in eight days

Just eight days out from the annual Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale bargain priced graduate Wowee delivered her throng of owners a valuable thrill by winning the Group 3 SAJC South Australia Fillies Classic over 2500m at Morphettville.

Wowee ($23,000 2011 Scone, 3f Choisir-Zeal) found a liking for the classic distance of the three-year-old fillies event to outstay her rivals on Saturday, finishing ahead of Let’s Make A Deal and VRC Oaks placegetter Summerbliss.

From the Zabeel mare Zeal, Wowee is raced by a large group of owners; C Newman, Prestige Worldwide Racing (Mgr: G Montgomery), J Kreuzer, J Bahen, P Miers, D Luca, D Santaro, Miss L Attard, Racing Australia 9 (Mgr: K Manning), Racing Australia 8 (Mgr: K Manning), Miss J Hicks, Miss J Kane, P Kostoski, C Decorsey, J Dooley & J Jarvis.

Wowee was purchased by Malua Bloodstock for just $23,000 from the draft of Amarina Farm at the 2011 Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale.

Amarina Farm are bringing a select draft of 5 lots to this year’s ever popular Inglis HTBA Scone Yearling Sale to be held at White Park on Sunday 19 May 2013.

193 yearlings, including two fillies by Choisir, have been catalogued for the 2013 Scone Yearling Sale, which follows the two-day Scone Race Club Carnival held on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May.

The Scone Yearling Sale has a well established reputation for being tremendous value for buyers. Past graduates of the sale including Group 1 winners Hot Danish and Small Minds, plus stakes winners Star Of Octagonal, Happy Gladiator, Fill The Page, Transporter, Torah, Welkom Gold and current two-year-old The Huntress, which was an unlucky third at Group 3 level today.

A strong collection of drafts from leading Hunter Valley breeders and a wide selection of stallions are represented in this year’s catalogue.

All yearlings sold at the 19 May sale are eligible for nomination into the $5 million Inglis Race Series, which includes the $100,000 Scone Inglis Challenge restricted to Scone Yearling Sale graduates paid up for the series.

Buyer are also reminded about the 137 lot Inglis Scone Thoroughbred Sale on Thursday 16 May next week. The catalogue features over 50 broodmares, 30 yearlings, 25 weanlings and 20 racehorses.
