Yearlings arriving for Melbourne Premier

Yearlings have started arriving at Inglis’ Oaklands complex ahead of the start of the 2013 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale at 2pm this Sunday 3 March.

List of yearling drafts already on the sales ground or arriving in the coming days is available HERE

775 yearlings have been selected for the four day sale, with plenty picking up pedigree updates since the catalogue went to print in December.

Set to be offered at the sale include the siblings to recent stakes winners Super Cool, She’s Clean, Green Roller, Cathay Lady and Talent Show, plus Group 1 Lightning Stakes runner-up Moment Of Change.

“I’ve always been a big proponent on measuring the success of a sale by the racehorse it produces and with names such as Black Caviar, Igugu, Ortensia, Sacred Kingdom, Field’s Of Omagh, Weekend Hussler and Starspangledbanner on its honour roll the Melbourne Premier Sale is certainly delivering results for buyers,” said Inglis Melbourne Director Peter Heagney.

105 stallions are represented in this year’s Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale catalogue. There are also progeny from 93 stakes-winning dams as well as 97 yearlings who are half or full relations to stakes winners.

Only those horses offered at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale are eligible for the $250,000 Inglis Premier race for two-year-olds, part of the $5 million Inglis Race Series.

The 2013 running of the $250,000 Inglis Premier was won by Twilight Royale, which is being aimed towards the Group 2 VRC Sires Produce Stakes on 9 March. Victory in the $220,000 Flemington race would take Twilight Royale only one win away from claiming the Inglis Triple Crown and the huge $2.4 million cash bonus that comes with it.

Buyer’s chance to #AimHigher with a top quality galloper from the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale starts this 3, 4, 5 & 6 March 2013.
