Sale Overview
Following from a incredibly successful sale in 2014 where a new record average weanling price was set at $14,504, the 2015 Inglis Great Southern Sale on 21, 22 and 23 June delivered impressive results.
The bumper four-day 2015 Inglis Great Southern Sale rounded off an astronomical season of Inglis’ sales in 2015, where 3500 thoroughbreds were sold at an outstanding overall clearance of 84%.
597 horses were sold at Oaklands, grossing $8,535,300, a 72% increase on last year’s figure.
“It was very satisfying to finish the sales season on such a buoyant note. From the weanlings and broodmares right through to the racing stock, there was good competition and the sale finished with excellent results in all sections. I think the success of a sale can often be judged by the clearance and we achieved over 80% in most sections,” said Inglis Victorian Director Peter Heagney.
The auditorium was again alive with spirited bidding from many local and interstate buyers, which helped to achieve overall clearance rate of 82% across the sale.
The 2016 Inglis Great Southern Sale is anticipated to be conducted from 19 June.
