89% clearance and a 48% jump in gross was achieved by Book Two of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale on another glorious Autumn day at Newmarket. Trainers and syndicators from across the Eastern Seaboard competed for more than 80 yearlings, with the top price of $42,000 being reached by Lot 65, a son of Australian Derby winner Roman Emperor out of Group 1-placed Miss Meliss. The colt was offered by Princes Farm, the sale’s leading vendor by average and one of 16 vendors to achieve 100% clearance through the ring.

A sensational four straight days of trade across weanlings, race fillies and broodmares has finished on a high in Sydney, with total turnover for the 2016 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale in excess of $33.8m, the best result in six years, with the overall clearance 86%.
Buyer competition continued strongly on the third day of selling at the 2016 Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale at Newmarket, building the clearance rate to an impressive 88% with local, interstate and overseas investors all adding to a diverse buying bench.
