A Ready-made Supplementary

17th Jun 2008

The inaugural Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale goes from strength to strength with a final supplementary entry to hold great interest for breeders throughout the world.

William Inglis & Son are to offer, on behalf of Eclipse Award winning trainer Todd Pletcher, a lifetime breeding right in the leading sire More Than Ready (USA).

The lifetime breeding right enables the purchaser to send a mare to More Than Ready (USA) in both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. Catalogued as Lot 659 in the supplementary, the right will sell in between the major dispersals of Tyreel and Risdon stud.

"This is a fantastic addition to the Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock sale and we are delighted that Todd has elected to sell the breeding right with us,” William Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said.

“Given that the stallion is oversubscribed and there are no nominations available in this country, as well as the fact he continues to do well in the Northern Hemisphere, there should be considerable interest from a number of breeders around the world.

“Anyone that is interested in the breeding right should contact Byron Rogers in our office prior to the sale to understand the terms and conditions ofthe sale of this right.”

More Than Ready, by Southern Halo from Woodman’s Girl (by Woodman), stands for A$110,000 in Australia this year and with the season drawing to a close he will shortly be crowned Australian Champion Two-Year-Old Sire for 2007-08.

The Vinery stallion enjoyed another impressive juvenile winner today in the shape of the John O’Shea trained Olonana, a $260,000 graduate of last year’s William Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. Olonana is out of the Myocard mare Arkadina, who has a Snitzel filly catalogued as Lot 73 in next week’s New Sire Showcase on the opening day of the Australian Weanling and Breeding Stock Sale.
