All Silent Roars in Emirates

8th Nov 2008

Inglis graduates rounded out the spring carnival the same way it had begun – with another emphatic Group 1 victory, this time via Belong To Me’s outstanding five-year-old All Silent.

No longer just the younger brother of former glamour mare Private Steer, ALL SILENT (P$280,000 2005 Easter, 5g Belong To Me-Lisheenowen) has firmly established himself as an outstanding horse in his own right following his brilliant win in the G1 $1million Emirates Stakes (1600m) at Flemington today.

This was also another Inglis Group 1 quinella, with SEA BATTLE ($15,000 2005 Ready To Run, 5h Quest For Fame-Peppie) running his typically honest race to grab second.

Backing up from a Group 3 1400m victory at Flemington last Saturday, All Silent relished the step up to 1600m today and the Graeme Begg trained gelding raced away to score one of the most dominant Group 1 wins seen in recent times.

He has only been lightly raced, but is now the winner of five races in just 11 starts for earnings of $953,000.

All Silent is one of six individual stakes winning graduates from Widden Stud yearling drafts this season and joins Typhoon Zed and Whobegotyou as Group 1 winners off the famed Thompson family farm this term.

All Silent’s dam Lisheenowen (by Semipalatinsk) has firmly established herself as an outstanding broodmare, having now produced two individual Group 1 winners and Reavill Farm will offer an Encosta De Lago colt from the mare at next year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Inglis graduates have now won 12 Group 1 races this season, with each of the Sydney Classic, Melbourne Premier and Australian Easter Yearling Sales being represented among that haul, which started with Typhoon Zed’s success in the first G1 of the new season, the Manikato Stakes.

The Inglis Group 1 winners are:

Samantha Miss ($1.5million Easter) VRC Oaks, Flight Stakes; Typhoon Zed ($62,500 Classic) Manikato Stakes;  Weekend Hussler ($80,000 Premier) Underwood Stakes; Mentality ($100,000 Easter) George Main Stakes; Sousa ($420,000 Easter) Spring Champion Stakes; Newport ($150,000 Easter) The Metropolitan; Littorio ($15,000 Premier) Turnbull Stakes; Whobegotyou (P$17,500 Classic) Caulfield Guineas; Maldivian ($195,000 Easter) Cox Plate; Forensics ($900,000 Easter) Myer Classic; All Silent (P$280,000 Easter)

Earlier, the Inglis spring stakes tally was added to when DRUMBEATS ($350,000 Easter 3c Redoute’s Choice-Delicate Choice) scored a strong win in the Listed Hilton International Stakes (1400m).

Prepared for sale by Vinery Stud, the lightly raced colt was purchased by Woodlands Stud and now races for Sheikh Mohammed.
