Breeding Updates From Segenhoe Stud

With the breeding season in full swing we are happy to be able to provide some updates from some of Segenhoe Stud's most exciting residents.

True Blonde
Stakes-winning Naturalism mare True Blonde is a half-sister to Champion racehorse and successful sire Snippets. She is already the dam of Stakes-winner Regrowth and the granddam of Golden Slipper winner Forensics, and her 12th foal is a Lonhro filly who sold for a record price as a weanling of $710,000 in 2014. Her 13th foal is a yearling filly by Snitzel who will head to the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale this year. She was covered last weekend by Exceed And Excel.

Calvinia
Winning Varick mare Calvinia is the dam of Champion Sprinter and six time Group winning Calveen, Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed Kosi Bay and the exciting Group 3 winning filly in Fireworks. Her yearling colt by Sepoy made $525,000 at Inglis Easter Sale this year to the bid of Asian Bloodstock Services, and she was covered last week by More Than Ready.

Vegas Showgirl
Two-time Stakes winning Kiwi bred Al Akbar mare Vegas Showgirl, a half-sister to stakes performer Black Magic Maggie and the dam of Group 1 Queensland Oaks winner and dual Group 2 winner Winx, was covered by Snitzel this week. She has a 2YO Snitzel colt in training with Gai Waterhouse, and yearling colt (also by Snitzel) who is heading to the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale this year.

Apprise
Daughter of Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed Testa Rossa mare Vormista, and full-sister to Group 1 MRC Blue Diamond runner-up Reemah, Redoute’s Choice mare Apprise whose promising career was curtailed by injury made $900,000 at the 2013 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. She was covered this week by Pierro.

Legally Bay (pictured)
Group 3 winning Inglis Easter graduate Snippets mare Legally Bay is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Bonaria, Group 3 winner Time Out and Chatoyant (dam of Group 3 winner Montsegur). She is also the dam of Group 2 ATC Roman Consul winner and Group 1 placed Jolie Bay. Her Fastnet Rock yearling colt will go to Inglis Easter Yearling Sale this year, and she was covered by All Too Hard this week.
