Catalogues available for action-packed Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale

The 294 lot catalogue for the action-packed Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale is now available online.

The two day sale will be conducted at Oaklands on Thursday 15 and Friday 16 August 2013, highlighted by 50 racehorses from Darley.

A first season stallion parade, broodmare sale and a yearling preparation and presentation seminar will be held on the opening day, followed by a bumper sales session of yearlings and racing stock on day two.

First season stallions Mulaazem, Lucas Cranach, Squamosa, Jungle Ruler and Scintillo will be paraded at 12 noon on Thursday morning.

101 Broodmares have been catalogued to be offered from 12:30pm. Entries include Black Caviar’s relation Belleluia in foal to Wanted, Listed winner Tingirana in foal to Canford Cliffs, other broodmares in foal to stallions such as Sebring, Toorak Toff, Magnus, Domesday, Ilovethiscity, Statue Of Liberty and Sepoy, plus young mares straight of the track such as the stakes placed Let’s Be Happy and Miss Bindi.

The Yearling Sale Preparation & Presentation Seminar will commence at approximately 4pm, immediately following the broodmare section. Speakers at the seminar include Vinery Stud General Manager Peter Orton, Animal Nutritionist Dr John Kohnke, Veterinary experts from Flemington Equine, plus leading trainers on their yearling sale expectations.

“The seminar is aimed to empower participants with additional knowledge and information that will enable them to maximise the sale ring potential of their yearlings,” Inglis Director Peter Heagney points out.

Friday’s sale session (Lots 102 – 294) of new season yearlings, unbroken stock, race fillies and racehorses will commence at 10:30am.

Yearlings by sires such as Wanted, Artie Schiller, Written Tycoon, Host and Stryker have been entered for sale.

Darley have entered 50 race fillies, colts and geldings which will be offered as Lots 194 to 243. They include metropolitan winners Euphorbia, Gig, Sari, Vital, Kuhreihen, Sabres, The Owl and many other young lightly raced or unraced prospects.

Group winners There’s Only One, Red Typhoon, Upbeat and the stakes placed Medusa’s Miss are amongst the entries for sale on Friday 16 August.

Lee Fleming Thoroughbreds Unreserved Dispersal, Hudson Conway Racing, Ultra Thoroughbreds, Rosemont Stud, Forest Lodge Racing and Eliza Park International also have significant drafts of racing stock catalogued to be offered at the 2013 Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale.
