Caviar heads strong Inglis Inclusions in ANZ Classifications

Headed by Black Caviar, Inglis graduates were prominent among the top rated horses in the latest release of the official ANZ Classifications.

BLACK CAVIAR ($210,000 2008 Premier) earned the highest mark achieved by an Australian trained horse since the ANZ Classifications were incorporated into the World Thoroughbred Rankings in 2004, eclipsing the previous mark of 124 held by Makybe Diva.

Fellow Inglis graduates WHOBEGOTYOU ($19,500 2007 Classic) and ZIPPING ($80,000 2003 Easter) were also recognised with a World class rating of 120.

Dual Group 1 winner Whobegotyou is among the early favourites for this year’s Cox Plate, while Zipping was retired last week after his eight seasons on the track yielded 16 wins and $4.5million in earnings.

In addition to Black Caviar taking out the overall top ranking and being named leading sprinter, a number of other Inglis graduates also topped their categories.

Golden Slipper placegetters ELITE FALLS ($300,000 2010 Easter) and MOSHEEN ($250,000 2010 Easter) shared the honours for leading two-year-old filly.

ANACHEEVA ($110,000 2009 Easter) was named leading three-year-old miler for his win in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas, a noted stallion making race. He headed ILOVETHISCITY ($40,000 2009 Classic) who completed the spring-autumn Group 1 mile double for Inglis graduates when he won the Randwick Guineas in the autumn.

YOSEI (P$14,500 2008 Great Southern Weanling) winner of the Thousand Guineas and Tattersalls Tiara at Group 1 level, was the equal highest rated three-year-old filly.

Other Inglis graduates to have performances rated 115 or above, which now go off to the World Thoroughbred Rankings Committee for confirmation, were Black Piranha, Metal Bender, Centennial Park, Triple Honour, Zavite and Hot Danish

“The aim for every breeder is to breed horses that are competitive in the best races and Inglis is proud to have been the agent for so many top class performers again for the 2010-11 season,” Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said.

“Obviously Black Caviar has been a wonderful flagbearer for our yearling sales, but the latest classifications clearly illustrate the great depth we have had across all categories in the past 12 months.”
