Sincero and Ilovethiscity have joined fellow Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale graduate Secret Admirer at the top of Epsom Handicap markets after running the quinella in the Group 1 ATC George Main Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill today.

SINCERO ($8,000 2009 Classic, 4g Umatilla-Yours As Always) sat three wide near the rear for most of the Group 1 feature before peeling wide and fighting off Randwick Guineas winner Ilovethiscity to notch up his 11th win from 15 starts, taking his career earnings to $1,371,750.

Last season's Inglis Guineas/Stradbroke Hcp winner was having his first try at weight-for-age, and looks well on track for a crack at Australasia's premier weight-for-age event, the Group 1 MVRC W.S. Cox Plate, on October 22.

“He dug deep and just doesn’t know how to give up this horse”, Sincero’s trainer Chris Farley said.

“It’s a great lot of owners and we’re all just enjoying the ride.

“We’ll go to the Epsom then onto Melbourne”.

The son of Umatilla has given his connections a dream ride since being snapped up for a bargain $8,000 at the 2009 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale from the draft of Nerreman Stud of Forbes.

Earlier STRIKE THE STARS ($80,000 2010 Easter, 3g Savabeel-Ambitious) became Inglis’ 11th individual three-year-old stakes winner in Australia this season when saluting in the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes (1800m).

Placed at weight-for-age level behind Trusting and My Kingdom Of Fife last start, the Anthony Cummings trained galloper lapped up today’s 1800m at Rosehill to defeat Doctor Doom by a length, with another three back to King’s Pact in third.

Sold by Waikato Stud to Cummings at Easter, Strike The Stars will next meet fellow Easter graduates Darci Be Good and Rekindled Alliance in the Group 1 ATC Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick in two weeks.

Silent Witness’ half-sister SISTER MADLY (P$775,000 2008 Easter, 5m Redoute’s Choice-Jade Tiara) then took out the last at Caulfield, the Group 3 MRC Sportingbet Series – Heat 2 Stakes (1200m), for new owner Kevin Maloney of Segenhoe Stud.

Originally raced by her breeder Ian Smith of Edinburgh Park, the blue-blooded mare was recently sold to Maloney for $1million, with the new connections looking towards the Group 1 VRC Myer Classic this spring and Group 1 SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes in the autumn with the daughter of Redoute’s Choice before she joins the stellar Segenhoe Stud broodmare band.
