Classic Videos Now Online

The Sirecam Videos for the three-day, 607 Lot Inglis Classic Sale, beginning next Sunday, February 8, are now uploaded on the Inglis website.

Using THIS LINK, there are videos of each lot in the sale within the Online Catalogue. The 2009 catalogue comprises 607 lots by 114 individual sires, the majority of whom are BOBS eligible. The sires range from proven top-liners, to exciting newcomers and there’s certain to be a stallion with progeny that suits everyone’s criteria.

All Classic Sale graduates are eligible for the $2.5m Inglis Race Series.

Classic is enjoying a stellar run of success this season, with graduates already having won 20 stakes races. Those 20 races have been won by 11 individual horses, each of which were purchased between prices of just $14,000 and $70,000.

In 2008, Classic had four individual G1 winning graduates: AJC The Galaxy and MVRC Manikato Stakes winner Typhoon Zed; AJC Doncaster Handicap winner Triple Honour; Caulfield Guineas victor Whobegotyou; and New Zealand Two Thousand Guineas winner Tell A Tale.

The latter two have added to a success story that has seen Classic dubbed “the Guineas Sale” in recent times, with God’s Own and In Top Swing’s victories meaning Classic graduates have now won three of the past six MRC G1 Caulfield Guineas.

“For a sale that has averaged between $30,000 and $40,000 in the past five years, the Classic Sale has a wonderful record of racetrack success and the past 12 months have certainly continued that trend,” Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said.

“This sale is about types and athletes and the performances of graduates speak for themselves.

“In the first half of this season, Classic has already provided an International Group 1 winner (Tell A Tale), the highest rated three-year-old in the land (Whobegotyou) and the first two-year-old to win dual stakes races (Our Joan Of Arc).”

Inglis innovations introduced in 2008 will also be a feature of this year’s sale, with the digital X-Ray repository, online bidding and the Make an Offer service. The sale will also be streamed live on Inglis TV, another first for an Australian auction house.
