Easter Broodmare Begins Next Tuesday

The four day 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale gets underway next Tuesday April 13, with a number of vendors hopeful of collecting an all important pedigree update for their filly or mare this weekend.

12 lots received a strong boost last weekend, where the sire they were either in foal to, or had a foal foot by, Stratum, sired the G1 STC Golden Slipper winner.

Again there are plenty of vendors hoping for an added boost from the nine black type races on offer at Royal Randwick tomorrow, no more so than the connections of Olonana, who will line up as topweight in the G2 AJC Sapphire Stakes before being offered at Newmarket next Wednesday as Lot 351.

Fellow G2 winner Fritz’s Princess has been a late edition to the sale. The daughter of More Than Ready will be offered as Lot 949 at the end of Day 3 of the four day Broodmare Sale.

This year’s sale has attracted an outstanding response from vendors, which prompted the extension of the sale to four days, with 948 mares in the original catalogue.

The catalogue boasts an updated 84 stakes winners, including outstanding G1 winners Sun Classique, Absolute Glam, Serious Speed & Bel Mer. It also includes 446 half or full relations to stakes winners, including 121 G1 winners.

Inglis graduates later completed a Sires Produce double, with STIRLING GROVE ($52,500 2009 Premier, 2g Mossman-Kalamata) winning the Group 3 South Australian Sires Produce Stakes.
