Easter Parades Start At Newmarket

Yearlings have arrived and parades have begun ahead of the 2009 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which begins from 1pm this Sunday, April 5.

The 600-strong catalogue features siblings to 53 Group 1 winners and progeny from 50 Group 1 winning dams.

In all, progeny of 181 stakes winners and siblings to 157 stakes winners will be sold across the three sessions at Newmarket next week.

Those not able to get to Sydney this week, but wishing to view yearlings via the Sirecam footage on the Inglis website can do so by clicking HERE

The Easter updates continue to roll in ahead of the sale, with the wins by Metal Bender, Indian Ocean and Centennial Park on Saturday bringing the total to 69 for stakes races won by graduates of the sale this season.

Metal Bender’s Rosehill Guineas was the 11th Group 1 race won by an Easter graduate in Australia this season.

The catalogue includes Lot 246, a Dehere filly that is the first foal of a stakes placed half-sister to Metal Bender.

Centennial Park is from Trephina, a daughter of the wonderful producer Procrastinate, who is represented at Easter this year by Lot 168, a colt by Galileo.

This year’s sale again includes the 100 Lot Session II, which begins on Tuesday, April 7 immediately following Lot 500.

The sale will be televised live on TVN and on Inglis Sale Day Live, which includes up to the minute statistics. Online bidding and the Make an Offer services are of course available for those buyers unable to attend the sale.
