Forever After Charity Event & Auction at Inglis

The dream of racing starts here at the Inglis Yearling Sales.

By attending the Forever After Charity Auction or bidding on the original Makybe Diva Portrait, by award winning Australian artist Michael Legge-Wilkinson, you will be supporting the rehabilitation of this magnificent animal to a life after racing.

At approx 5pm on Wednesday 6 April at Inglis Newmarket, there will be an auction of a stunning portrait of Makybe Diva (original oil on linen painting, 78 x 26 inches) plus a Commission of your choice by the Artist. The auction will take place after the last lot (360) in the Easter Yearling Sale is sold on Wednesday.

The Makybe Diva Portrait, by award winning Australian artist Michael Legge-Wilkinson was painted under license to the Diva’s owners for a limited edition print run that celebrates the Diva’s win in the 2005 Melbourne Cup, when the “Champion became a Legend”.

The artist created the painting over three years, from 2006 to 2008, investing over 1000 hours of brushwork to capture every muscle and sinew in a representational portrait of the highest standard. The limited edition prints have been sold and now the original is available to investors, exclusively through this fundraising auction and in support of the Racehorse Rehabilitation Trust.

This Special Fundraising Auction is in support of the NSW Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Trust. The New South Wales Thoroughbred Rehabilitation Trust (NSWTRT) is a charity recently established and supported by Racing NSW. The Trust has developed a program that retrains, rehabilitates and re-homes NSW thoroughbred race horses at the conclusion of their racing careers. Equine Rehabilitation Manager Scott Brodie – a 20 year horse handling veteran and his team - work with funding and industry expertise donated by Racing NSW, at Royal Randwick based facilities donated by the Australian Turf Club.

If you can’t make it to Newmarket please register for online bidding by 5.00pm Friday 1 April so you don’t miss out on this authentic piece of memorabilia, whilst supporting our Australian Thoroughbreds.
