Trainers and studmasters are encouraged to nominate their outstanding staff members for the national 2015 Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff awards before entries close 5pm Monday 28 September.

The awards, which are administered by Racing Australia and supported by each principal racing authority, offer $100,000 in prizemoney and are designed to recognise the dedication of stud and stable staff throughout all sectors of the Australian racing industry.

The awards, which were launched nationally at the beginning of the month, include seven categories - each of which carries a cash prize of $10,000 and a specially commissioned trophy.

The two runners-up in each category will collect a $500 prize while the winner’s stable or stud will also receive a $2,000 prize.

The categories are as follows:

  1. Leadership Award (Stud or Stable);

  2. Horsemanship Award (Stud or Stable);

  3. Dedication to Breeding Award;

  4. Dedication to Racing Award;

  5. Administration (Stud/Racing Stable/Ancillary Services) Award (Stud or Stable);

  6. Thoroughbred Care and Welfare Award; and

  7. Thoroughbred Excellence Award - Overall Award (Stud or Stable Only) (Winner to be selected from one of the five categories)

Nominations close at 5pm (AET) next Monday, 28 September with the winners set to be announced at the inaugural Australian Awards ceremony at The Stables, Randwick Racecourse, on Tuesday, 24 November.

Nominations can be made by anyone within the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry, with stable staff permitted to nominate fellow staff members they feel worthy of recognition.
