Harron’s Colt Captures Attention With Strong BRC Sires Victory

Stunning Stratum colt Attention put his opposition on notice for the JJ Atkins in two weeks’ time with a strong victory in the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Doomben today.

Bought by James Harron Bloodstock at the 2015 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, Attention (Stratum x Flamboyance) is the most expensive yearling by his sire and the quality colt has the elite ability to go with his impeccable looks.

“It was great effort. He’s an imposing horse, a great looking two-year-old bought by James Harron, who’s got a great bunch of owners in him and I’m just lucky to pick up the ride,” said impressed jockey Blake Shinn.

Attention is the third foal from placed Snowland mare Flamboyance, which in turn is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Pasikatera from the family of Tempest Morn. The colt was bred by Ron Gilbert’s Highgrove Stud and sold for $620,000 at last year’s Easter Sale.

The son of Stratum is sure to draw plenty of interest from stud masters across the country as he attempts to follow in the footsteps of Sizzling, which won the Group 1 BRC JJ Atkins after his Sires’ in 2012 and is now at stud at Newgate Farm.

“He seems to settle a great deal better in his work and in his races now which is showing. He can really sustain a run and I don't think a mile is going to hurt him. I think he is still hitting his peak and hopefully that is in two weeks’ time [JJ Atkins],” said co-trainer Paul Snowden.

Attention continues the great run of two-year-old success for James Harron Bloodstock and Team Snowden, which have won the Golden Slipper (Capitalist) and Black Opal Stakes (Defcon) already this season.
