Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale kicks off tomorrow

The 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale kicks off at the earlier time of 10:30am tomorrow morning in Sydney, with all pedigree updates of the 680 fillies and mares to be sold available at www.inglis.com.au

48% of fillies and mares catalogued are siblings to stakes winners, just like Black Caviar’s dam Helsinge was when sold at the Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale in 2005, while 76% of all offerings are being sold in-foal to proven and exciting young sires from both Australia and New Zealand.

Tuesday April 17 will see the Super Select Session and Supplementary fillies and mares; Lots 1 to 233 and Lots 669 to 680, which includes Group One winners Recurring, Response, Shapira, Anabandana, Demerger, Diana Cazadora and La Bella Dama, plus the dams of Eremein, Bentley Biscuit and Melito.

Wednesday April 17 comprises the next selection of Select Session mares; Lots 224 to 456

The sale concludes on Thursday April 18 with the General Session mares; Lots 457 to 668

All three days of this year’s Australian Easter Broodmare Sale will commence at 10:30am.

Many of this week’s offerings have received pedigree updates since the catalogue was released. Updates to fillies and mares to be offered on Day One include:-

Lot 4 – Quiz Queen – Grand dam of Group Three ATC Adrian Knox Stakes winner Full Of Spirit

Lot 72 – Alma Star – Half-sister to the dam of outstanding Group Two ATC Sapphire Stakes winner Atlantic Jewel

Lot 148 – Fashion Black – Half-sister to Group Three Newcastle JC Newmarket Handicap winner He’s Remarkable

“Vendors have really got behind our stronger grading system this year with outstanding entries across the three days,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.

“Easter is without doubt stud masters and breeders greatest opportunity to invest into fillies and mares from Australasia’s best families, securing a top book for their recently retired stallions or valuable additions to their broodmare band,” Webster said.

The 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale will be broadcast on Inglis Sale Day live, with Online Bidding and Make-An-Offer available for those buyers unable to attend the Newmarket complex this week.

Regular updates direct from the sale ring will also be posted via @Inglis_Sales on Twitter and photos will be made available on Inglis’ Facebook page InglisBloodstock
