Inglis Colts Set To Tackle Slipper

4th Apr 2008

After graduates filled five of the six placings in the Sydney juvenile features last week, Inglis graduates kept up the good work when running the trifecta in the Group 2 Todman Stakes at Canterbury.

As a timely reminder of the upcoming Inglis Yearling Sale features at Newmarket, the Todman spoils were shared between Easter and Classic graduates.

The Easter Sale this year includes a Select Session II catalogue of yearlings and will be followed a week later by the Classic Yearling Sale – transferred from January this year because of the EI crisis.

Warwick Farm trainer Matthew Smith went to $450,000 at Easter last year to secure KRUPT (2c Flying Spur-Categorical) and he is set to give the young trainer his first Golden Slipper runner after a determined win in the Todman.

The Bart Cummings trained RELATED (P/I $350,000 2007 Easter, Elusive Quality-Cousins) made a huge impression on debut with his unlucky second and he too is now qualified for the Slipper.

Related's Golden Slipper price was slashed to $10 following the run, while Krupt is now a $17 chance for the World's richest two-year-old race.

This month's Easter catalogue includes a full-brother to Related, to be offered by Princes Farm as Lot 52.

TYPHOON FURY ($70,000 2007 Classic, Hurricane Sky-Kuri Bay) rounded out the trifecta with his close up third placing.

Inglis graduates have dominated two-year-old racing in the past few seasons, highlighted by Group 1 wins to Golden Slipper winners Miss Finland and Forensics, Blue Diamonds to Nadeem and Reaan and other Group 1 wins to Mentality, Camarilla and Apercu.
