Inglis Nursery field highlights strong Randwick program

Graduates from five of Inglis’ sales will be represented in Saturday’s $500,000 Listed Inglis Nursery at Randwick.

A full field of 16 plus one emergency was declared for the race, with runners coming from Easter, Premier, Classic, Scone and the Ready2Race Sale.

There are 14 different vendors represented with graduates in the race, as well as 15 different purchasing entities.

The early TAB favourite is the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Snitzel colt Wild Ruler, currently a $3.20 chance.

Wild Ruler is a $525,000 Easter Yearling Sale purchase for China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock/Winstar, from the Kia Ora Stud draft.

He is the second-highest priced runner in the race, behind filly Canadian Spice (Vancouver) which Woppitt Bloodstock and Hermitage Thoroughbreds purchased for $600,000 at Easter from Coolmore.

A range of stallions are represented with progeny in the Nursery including Exceed And Excel, Spirit Of Boom, Written Tycoon, Not A Single Doubt, Hinchinbrook, Deep Field, Pride Of Dubai, Bull Point, Charm Spirit, Better Than Ready, Poet’s Voice and Casino Prince.

The winner of the Nursery will join Inglis Banner winner Ideas Man (Brazen Beau) as the two horses still eligible for the $3m Inglis Triple Crown Bonus.

To win the Triple Crown, a horse must win either the Banner or Nursery, plus the $2m Inglis Millennium (Warwick Farm, February 8, 2020) and G1 Inglis Sires (Randwick, April 4, 2020).

Saturday’s Inglis Nursery is Race 4 and is scheduled to start at 2.45pm.
