Inglis Sydney Christmas Thoroughbred Sale this Friday

Boosted by a supplementary catalogue of 89 lots, this Friday's Sydney Christmas Thoroughbred Sale offers buyers a wide selection of both racing and breeding prospects among the 185 lots.

Outstanding three-year-old Youthful Jack, who nudged the Randwick 1300m course record under the burden of 60kg two weeks back, is a fine example of the type of horse that can be unearthed at this sale.

Ross Stitt paid just $5500 for him at the 2006 Christmas Thoroughbred Sale and the gelding is now the winner of eight races in 12 starts for $335,000 in earnings.

This Friday's catalogue includes racing prospects by Encosta De Lago, Flying Spur and Redoute's Choice – Australia's Champion Sires for the past three seasons – and half relations to Group 1 winners Lotteria and Devil Moon.

The catalogue also has breeding prospects by Champion Broodmare sires like Sir Tristram, Marscay and Centaine, along with other proven stallions including Snippets, Thunder Gulch, Flying Spur, Bluebird, Strategic, Fusaichi Pegasus, Street Cry and Anabaa.

Other breeding prospects include relations to Inglis spring carnival stars Our Joan Of Arc, Newport and Sea Battle.

The supplementary entries include fillies or mares by the likes of Redoute's Choice, Marscay, Success Express, Flying Spur, More Than Ready, Palace Music, Snippets, Danehill Dancer and Catbird.

Selling begins at Newmarket from 11am and online bidding will be available for those buyers who cannot make it to Sydney.
