Inglis Triple Crown Finale On Saturday At Scone

$2.4 million Inglis Triple Crown Bonus aspirations go on the line this Saturday at the Scone Race Club with Twilight Royale set for the biggest winner’s cheque in New South Wales racing history if she can salute in the Inglis Guineas.

The chances of Twilight Royale were dealt a blow this morning when the three-year-old filly drew barrier 16 for the 1400m Restricted Listed event.

Formidable opposition in Cosmic Endeavour, Chautauqua, Alpha Beat, Ryker, Under The Louvre, Liberty’s Choice, Woodbine and company are set to thwart the chance of the Triple Crown Bonus going off as they all chase the lucrative $240,950 first place cheque.

The $2.4 million Inglis Triple Crown Bonus was launched in early 2012 with graduates of that year’s Inglis Select Yearling Sales, such as Twilight Royale, being the first to have a crack at winning it.

“For the giant bonus to be alive going into the last leg in the first running of the Inglis Triple Crown is a great endorsement for the concept. Twilight Royale will need to bring her A-game on Saturday, but it’s clear to everyone that it is winnable,” said Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster.

As part of the $5million Inglis Race Series, the $2.4million Bonus will be paid by Inglis to the connections of a horse that can win the three legs of the Inglis Triple Crown.

There are four different paths that can be taken to win the bonus, there is no restriction on the bonus if field sizes are small throughout any leg and qualification is simple.

$2.4 million Inglis Triple Crown Bonus

Leg 1 (must win either)
$250,000 RL Inglis Banner (2YO, 1000m) or
$250,000 RL Inglis Nursery (2YO, 1000m)

Leg 2 (must win either)
Gr.2 VRC Sires Produce Stakes (2YO, 1400m) or
Gr.1 ATC Sires Produce Stakes (2YO, 1400m)

Leg 3 (must win)
$400,000 RL Inglis Guineas (3YO, 1400m)

If won the $2.4million Bonus will be distributed to:
80% ($1,920,000) to Owner/s
10% ($240,000) to Trainer
5% ($120,000) to Breeder
5% ($120,000) to Vendor

The only eligibility restriction on the $2.4 million Inglis Triple Crown Bonus is that only yearlings offered (sold or passed-in) exclusively at Inglis Select Yearling Sales which are nominated to the Inglis Race Series are eligible.
