Inglis Yearlings All The Rage At Two-Year-Old Sales

Pinhookers looking for an edge in the tough horses-in-training sales ring need look no further than the Inglis Select Yearling Sale Series if recent results are anything to go by.

Mark and Shelley Treweek’s Lyndhurst Farm garnered special recognition after the recent Ready to Run Sale of two-year-olds in New Zealand, finishing as the leading vendor by aggregate and average for the sixth year running. That three of their five colts that sold for NZ$250,000 or more were sourced from the Inglis Sydney or Melbourne Premier Yearling Sales is a great endorsement for the type of yearling selected by Inglis’ experienced bloodstock team each year.

Anzac Lodge and JK Farm also recorded outstanding results with Inglis purchases, turning A$70,000 and A$28,000 yearlings into NZ$360,000 and NZ$300,000 two-year-olds sales respectively.

Recent pinhooks from Inglis Select Yearling Sales include:-

Breeding | Yearling Sale | Yearling Price | 2YO Vendor | 2YO Price: -------- | ------- | -------- | -------- | ------- : Encosta de Lago x Notes of Desire | Melbourne Premier | $70,000 | Anzac Lodge | NZ$360,000 Exceed And Excel x Pas De Deux | Melbourne Premier | $60,000 | Lyndhurst Farm | NZ$350,000 Casino Prince x Ausbred Chic | Sydney Classic | $28,000 | JK Farm | NZ$300,000 Written Tycoon x Wild Release | Sydney Classic | $55,000 | Lyndhurst Farm | NZ$250,000 Dubawi x Magic Tori | Melbourne Premier | $65,000 | Lyndhurst Farm | NZ$250,000

“The Treweek’s and other New Zealand pinhookers have a great eye for a yearling and we are extremely pleased that they are getting the results they deserve with yearlings purchased from our sales,” said Inglis Sydney Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy.

“There is over 200 years of bloodstock experience in our yearling selection team, but we are continually refining our process to ensure correct and athletic individual horses are selected for our catalogues, giving buyers the best chance on the track or back in the sales ring.”

Australian bred horses have had an exceptional year throughout the world in 2012. With boom horses like Ricky Yiu trained Amber Sky (by Exceed And Excel) set to light up the tracks in Asia in 2013 the high demand for the AUS product at recent Ready To Run Sales is understandable.

“We have inspected another 3,500 yearlings for our 2013 Select Yearling Sales Series and very much look forward to welcoming pinhookers, trainers, syndicators and owners to inspect the horses at our sales starting with the Sydney Classic Yearling Sale in January,” D’arcy said.

467 lots have been catalogued for the 2013 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale – Summer Book, which will be conducted on 20 & 21 January.

775 lots have been catalogued for the 2013 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, which will be conducted on 3, 4, 5 & 6 March.

Both catalogues are available online at www.inglis.com.au and the new Inglis Sales iPad app
