“2015 will be the biggest Inglis Easter Sale we have conducted in the last five years after increased support from the region’s leading breeders, who have again entrusted Inglis to sell their best bred and conformed yearlings,” said Mark Webster, Inglis’ Managing Director.

Australian bred racehorses featured formidably in the World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for 2014 with the AUS suffix carried by 34 individual gallopers rated 115 or higher, which is more than twice the number of any other individual country in the Southern Hemisphere.

“We have a lot to be proud of here in Australia with our racing industry and prizemoney the envy of many other jurisdictions, plus our breeders consistently produce high class yearlings capable of taking on the world, capped off last year by Inglis Easter graduate Able Friend,” Webster added.

Inglis Easter graduates won at International Group 1 level in each of Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Hong Kong and South Africa in 2014. A feat matched by no other sale in the Southern Hemisphere.

Mossfun became the 21st Inglis graduate to win the world’s richest two-year-old race, the $3.5 million Group 1 ATC Golden Slipper, while Shamus Award was crowned Australian champion 3YO colt after becoming the first ever winner of the Cox Plate-Australian Guineas double.

Sterling City and Amber Sky won Dubai's two biggest sprint races, Bounding was crowned Champion Sprinter in New Zealand, Zac Sprint was Champion Sprinter in Singapore, Majmu was Champion 2YO Filly in South Africa and Able Friend was officially named Hong Kong's highest-ever-rated horse.

Buyers will be offered another 605 exceptional yearlings at the 2015 Inglis Easter Sale on 7, 8 & 9 April at Newmarket in Sydney. The sale is positioned between the two major meetings of The Championships held around the corner at Royal Randwick.

Australia’s top 20 leading sires at the end of last season are represented by 360 yearlings in the 2015 Inglis Easter catalogue, led by Fastnet Rock with 57 lots, Snitzel (47), Redoute’s Choice (35), Sebring (33), More Than Ready (30), Northern Meteor (28), Exceed And Excel (20), Street Cry (20), Commands (18), High Chaparral (15), Stratum (15) and Lonhro (13).

136 yearlings by First Season Sires have been catalogued for 2015, which is more than any Inglis Easter Sale since the stellar crop in 2008 that included top stallions Fastnet Rock, Al Maher, Charge Forward, Not A Single Doubt, Savabeel, High Chaparral and Shamardal.

Fastnet Rock’s Group 1 winning son Foxwedge, a $925,000 Inglis Easter purchase himself, heads the First Season Sires representation with 33 yearlings at 2015 Inglis Easter. Dual Cox Plate winner So You Think has 32 catalogued, while Smart Missile (25), Sepoy (18), Dream Ahead (8), Helmet (5), Gio Ponti (4), Poet’s Voice (3), Cape Blanco (2), Toorak Toff (2), Jimmy Choux (1), Pluck (1), Pour Moi (1) and Uncle Mo (1) are represented in the prestigious sale.

In addition to the greatest representation of Australasia’s leading stallions and most exciting First Season Sires the 2015 Inglis Easter catalogue is without peer when it comes to mare strength. 195 stakes winning mares have progeny in the sale and there are 146 siblings to stakes winners catalogued.

44 of the 195 stakes winning mares won at Group 1 level including champions Miss Finland, National Colour, Princess Coup, Private Steer, Samantha Miss, Sun Classique, Alinghi, Alverta, Anabandana and Faint Perfume.

Of the 146 siblings to stakes winners an unrivalled 45 are half or full siblings to winners at the highest level including 2014 Group 1 winners Peggy Jean, Alboran Sea, Steps In Time, Hampton Court, Bounding, Cosmic Endeavour, Go Indy Go, Almalad and Dundeel.

The 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale catalogue is a culmination of long laid plans by the region’s leading breeders to showcase their superior product, so that they may get the best opportunity to succeed at the highest level.

“Much goes into realising a champion, but it is thanks to the expertise of the finest breeders in the southern hemisphere that Shakespeare’s axiom has stood the test of time: some are most certainly born great! When you step into the historic Newmarket complex this Easter, I know greatness will be thrust upon you in unparalleled quantity,” asserts John Coates AC, Inglis’ Chairman.
