The VOBIS Gold Regional Road Show hits Mornington this week

Some of the Mornington Peninsula’s favourite racing names are expected to converge on one of Victoria’s favourite hospitality venues for the penultimate leg of the Inglis VOBIS Gold Regional Road Show.

The Road Show arrives at Mornington’s ‘The Rocks’ on Wednesday night, offering local trainers and owners the opportunity to learn more about Victoria’s newest breeding and racing incentive scheme.

After proving a hit with participants at events in regional venues across the state over the last month, Racing Victoria’s Owners’ Ambassador Robert ‘Dipper’ DiPierdomenico will again attend.

The former AFL and Hawthorn star, an enthusiastic owner of horses including talented two-year-old colt Chivalry, will be involved in previewing the catalogue for the upcoming Inglis VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale at Oaklands on 27-28 April.

The VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale catalogue features a first session of 259 yearling lots, all of which are nominated for Super VOBIS and will have the opportunity to race for more than $18.3 million in collective Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold prizemoney and bonuses during their career on the track.

Popular racing media identity Steve Moran will MC the event while prominent Inglis auctioneer Simon Vivian will be on hand to lend his wealth of racing and breeding knowledge and help prospective buyers unearth some quality VOBIS yearlings from the Sale catalogue.

Commencing at 6pm at the popular waterfront venue, the event offers a terrific networking opportunity for industry participants, particularly trainers and owners, as well a chance to learn more about Victoria’s exciting VOBIS Gold breeding and racing incentive scheme.

Tomorrow night’s event is the fourth in this year’s VOBIS Gold Road Show series which has so far visited Ballarat, Bendigo and Mornington. The final event, targeted at Melbourne-based participants, will be held at South Melbourne’s Emerald Hotel on 23 April.
