Updates for Classic Yearling Sale

Updates continue to roll in for the 2010 Inglis Classic Sale, to be held at Newmarket on January 24 and 25. Photos and Sire Cam footage of lots can be found HERE

As 2009 closed trainer Gary Moore unearthed the rising star of Macau in unbeaten sprinter Happy Gladiator (by Viscount), who has won seven from seven, highlighted by a track record at his most recent outing.

Lot 498 is a half-brother by Lonhro to Happy Gladiator

The New Year had just begun before an update came in South Africa when Group 2 winning three-year-old Curved Ball (by Fastnet Rock) added to his growing reputation with another Listed success. Trainer Charles Laird rates Curved Ball as an outstanding prospect and expects him to eclipse Champion 3YO honours in South Africa this season.

Then last Sunday evening Craig’s Dragon (Easter $150,000) became the latest Inglis success story in Hong Kong when taking the HK G3 Bauhinia Sprint.

Classic includes two relations to the son of Catbird.

Lot 229 is a Not A Single Doubt colt from stakes placed Plain Crazy, whose dam What Price Glory is a half-sister to the prolific producer Steam Heat, dam of 13 winners, including Craig’s Dragon, Hot As Hell and Flaming Hot.

Lot 485 is a Not A Single Doubt filly from the winning Secret Savings mare Cash Crazy, a half-sister to Plain Crazy.

The Classic sale continues to be an outstanding source of quality at value prices.

The recent World Thoroughbred Rankings underline this fact, with two bargain priced Classic graduates making the elite list.

Whobegotyou ($19,500) was the fourth highest rated Australian horse, while Typhoon Zed ($62,500) also made the cut for horses rated 115 or higher.

Chance Bye, who obliterated her $15,000 purchase price when waltzing away with the Inglis Nursery last month, will attempt to further her reputation when she runs next in the $250,000 Inglis Classic.

Nominations for the 2YO Inglis Classic to be run at Rosehill on Saturday January 23 close on Monday morning.
