The 2005 June Thoroughbred Sale continued today at Oaklands Junction with 246 broodmares selling for gross receipts of $2,419,850, at an average price of $9,836 and a very healthy clearance rate of 81%.
The highlight of today’s session was Lot 482, Minelli. Offered for sale by Newhaven Park Stud as agent, the daughter of Flying Spur was herself a very consistent race mare, with 8 wins and 5 in concession. In foal to General Nediym, the mare was purchased by Glentree Downs Pastoral P/L for $110,000.
Quality mares were again well sought after as evidenced by the prices achieved here today.
The sale continues tomorrow with a further 342 horses on offer including broodmares, racehorses & yearlings. A supplementary catalogue will be available for collection at Oaklands Junction tomorrow morning or can be viewed online at www.inglis.com.au.
