Key Easter Pointers at Rosehill

Racing And Sports - Monday, 23rd March 2009

The ultra impressive wins by All Silent, Typhoon Tracy and More Joyous in feature races at Rosehill on Saturday highlighted a number of headline acts at next month's Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

ALL SILENT (P$280,000 2005 Easter, 5g Belong To Me-Lisheenowen) franked his place at the head of Doncaster betting when leading in an Easter trifecta in the star-studded Group 2 Canterbury Stakes at Rosehill today.

The Grahame Begg trained gelding, already a dominant G1 winner of the Emirates Stakes last spring, now heads betting for the Doncaster Mile with Inglis Classic graduate Whobegotyou.

All Silent's dam Lisheenowen is represented by LOT 74 at Easter, a colt by Encosta De Lago to be offered by Reavill Farm.

Of course, Lisheenowen is also the dam of multiple G1 winner and $3.4million earner Private Steer, whose first foal will be offered as LOT 166 at the April 5-7 sale. The bay filly, to be presented by Coolmore Stud, is by first crop stallion Starcraft.

Princess Tracy has made quite a contribution to international breeding and that extended to today's G1 Coolmore Classic, where she featured as the second dam of unbeaten filly Typhoon Tracy.

Princess Tracy has three descendants in next month's catalogue.

LOT 165 is an Encosta De Lago colt from Princess Stacey (End Sweep), to be offered by Coolmore Stud.

Murrulla Stud will offer LOT 215, a bay colt by Encosta De Lago from Scribbling (Palace Music), who has already produced the stakes winners Prince Of War and Prince Arthur.

The final member of the Princess Tracy clan to be offered at Easter will be Arrowfield Stud's LOT 300, a Redoute's Choice colt from the Last Tycoon mare Urge To Merge, who is a full sister to Typhoon Tracy's G1 winning dam Tracy's Element.

More Joyous added even more lustre to the wonderful Denise's Joy family with her impressive win in the G2 Reisling Slipper trial today.

Her sire More Than Ready has 14 yearlings catalogued for the Easter Sale.

Furthermore, the catalogue also boasts two descendants of Denise's Joy.

LOT 108, to be offered by Southern Cross Breeders, is a bay filly by Encosta De Lago from the Octagonal mare Miss Heath – a granddaughter of Denise's Joy, who now has 31 stakes winning descendants.

Denise's Joy also features as the third dam of LOT 423, a Flying Spur full-brother to dual stakes winner Primus from Copa De Oro, to be offered by Willow Park.

The Australian Easter Yearling Sale, the Southern Hemisphere's leading source of Group 1 winners, runs over three sessions at Newmarket, Sydney, from April 5-7.
