Main Catalogue closing for Inglis August Thoroughbred Sale

Vendors have until close of business Thursday July 9, to lodge entries into the main catalogue for the two day Inglis August Thoroughbred Sale to be held in Melbourne.

On the strength of last year’s sale, more than 350 horses have been nominated already and owing to this outstanding response, the sale will now begin a day earlier on Thursday August 13 and run through Friday August 14.

Last year’s sale topper Danevade ($1,050,000) along with Cancanelle ($260,000) highlighted the demand for top quality racefillies close to the breeding season with several other lots also fetching six figure sums.

The current demand for tried stock was highlighted by last Friday’s Sydney Winter Thoroughbred Sale producing a clearance rate of 92 percent, including 12 percent of those selling online. Online bidding will again be offered at the Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale.

A parade of first season sires will precede the sale on Thursday August 13 and will include multiple Group winning sprinter Kaphero as well as the impeccable looking [Floral Pegasus](http://www.stallions.com.au/stallions/stallion_details.php?stallionname=Floral Pegasus), a $500,000 Easter yearling who won the Mercedes Benz Mile Gr1 and earned the title of Champion Griffin in Hong Kong under the care of Tony Cruz.

That sale will be followed by the Scone Broodmare Sale on August 28, with nominations for that sale closing on July 17.
