Newmarket enjoys an outstanding day's trade

Newmarket enjoyed an outstanding days trade today as 225 lots went under the hammer to an enthusiastic crowd, resulting in a very healthy aggregate of $1,452,300, an average of $6,454.67 and an excellent 90% clearance.
Again the market proved strong in all categories with competition particularly keen for well performed racehorses and top quality broodmares.
Emerald Thoroughbreds secured the top two lots in today’s sale paying $130,000 for the Danehill mare, Rising Eagle, in foal to Galileo (IRE) and $80,000 for the daughter of Sunday Silence Robins Nest, in foal to Danehill Dancer (IRE).
Director, Jonathan D’Arcy was extremely pleased with the results. “It was fantastic to see such strong competition today. Commercial breeding prospects were highly sought after with many stud masters from the Hunter Valley and interstate in attendance. The racehorse section saw strong competition resulting in an outstanding clearance.”
