Outstanding Quality At March Thoroughbred Sale

The Inglis March Thoroughbred Sale has an impressive record of producing quality racetrack performers. Vendors have once again recognised this and thrown their support behind the sale entering 88 supplementary lots in recent weeks, totalling 264 Lots that will walk through the ring on an action-packed day this Friday, 20 March at Inglis’ Oaklands complex. Notable graduates of this sale include Crafty Cruiser, sold as a yearling he continues to produce results including a win in the Listed Roy Higgins Quality Stakes at Flemington earlier this month.

148 racehorses will be offered including nine outstanding lots from the stable of Nick and Lloyd Williams, selling under the Hudson Conway Racing banner. Previous Inglis graduates that have been sold from the Williams’ draft include last Monday’s Group 2 Adelaide Cup, Tanby, and Marksmanship which has gone on to win or place in seven of his ten starts since his purchase by trainer Ciaron Maher.

The current draft is headlined by the impeccably bred Listed winner Wales. By Redoute’s Choice out of Valkyrie Diva, the Group 3 winning half-sister to Maykbe Diva, he will be offered as Lot 139. Other notable lots from the Williams’ draft include multiple stakes placed gelding Practiced (Lot 140) and International Listed winner Thought Worthy (Lot 143) which ran fourth in the Group 1 Epsom Derby.

27 nicely-bred lots are being sold from the draft of breeding giant Darley, who consigned Group 1 winning Inglis graduate Sonntag in a previous reduction. This Friday’s draft is headlined by Group 2 Tulloch Stakes winner Gallatin (Lot 101), and Group 3 winner Champollion (Lot 97). Lot 100 is promising three-year-old Lonhro gelding Exert which has two wins and two placings from his four career starts.

Over 70 broodmares and broodmare prospects will be offered including the Mooney Valley winning daughter of Fastnet Rock, Love The Rock (Lot 207), half-sister to the Group 1 performer Stanica.

Emirates Park will offer mares in foal to their resident sires Harbour Watch, Mulaazem and Al Maher.

Woodside Park’s draft includes mares in foal to their resident stallion Foreplay, as well as mares both in foal to, and two foals at foot by their hot sire Written Tycoon.

Also on offer are mares in foal or with foals at foot by Starspangledbanner, Stryker, Statue Of Liberty and Master Of Design.

Selling will begin at 10.30am, this Friday 20 March 2015.
