QUALITY ALL ROUND AT SCONE

Australia's richest country race meeting, the 2007 Scone Cup Day will offer the racing enthusiast a precursor to what many are saying is the best catalogue ever assembled for this year's HTBA Scone Yearling Sale to be held at White Park on Sunday May 20, commencing at 10:30am.

An alluring under card at this Friday's Emirates Park Scone Cup sees the running of the 2007 Scone Inglis Challenge run over 1300m, a race open to graduates of the 2006 HTBA Scone Yearling, Scone Thoroughbred and Winter Thoroughbred Sales. The running of the Listed William Inglis/HTBA Dark Jewel Classic, also conducted on the same day has seen an astonishing 28 nominations highlighted by the last start Hawkesbury Guineas winner and Easter graduate Alverta.

An array of stallions sees many of those in the current Leading Sire Table represented by quality lots at Sunday's sale, highlighted by current top 20 stallions Commands, Danehill Dancer (IRE), Catbird and Canny Lad. Meanwhile highly sought after stallions such as Dubai Destination (USA), Lucky Owners (NZ) and Untouchable that are yet to have runners in Australia will also be represented.

With over 90% of yearlings catalogued for the sale being by a BOBS nominated stallion, the opportunity to purchase a quality yearling is further enhanced by the prospect to return in 12 months time to race in the 2008 Scone Inglis Challenge for $100,000 in prizemoney.

Lot 26 - Lonhro x Captivating filly; Amarina Farm as agent for Coral View Lodge, half-sister to Listed winner Sarah Vee

Lot 57 - French Deputy (USA) x Flames of Paris (USA) colt; Bellerive Stud as agent, dam a half-sister to Group One winner Park Appeal (GB), the dam of Group One winner and successful sire Cape Cross (IRE)

Lot 73 - Sir Laurence (NZ) x Helisa colt; Southern Cross Breeders, full brother to Group One winner and million dollar plus earner Laurie's Lottery, as well as the Group Three winner Paul's Folly

Lot 100 - Orientate (USA) x Leica Pretender (NZ) colt; Twin Palms Stud, half-brother to the Group One VRC Derby hero and successful sire Nothin' Leica Dane, as well as the Group Two winner Duelled

Lot 154 - Giant's Causeway (USA) x Pride of Goodwood colt; Goodwood Farm as agent, half-brother to Group One VRC Sires' Produce winner Pride Of Rancho
