RECORD RESULTS IN ALL CATEGORIES FOR THE INGLIS AUTUMN THOROUGHBRED SALE

8th Mar 2007

Strengthened by a competitive domestic buying bench and a larger catalogue on offer, the Inglis Autumn Thoroughbred Sale concluded this afternoon at Newmarket with impressive results in all categories. 238 lots were sold today generating gross receipts of $954,450. A record average of $4,000, up 5% on last year, was achieved as well as a strong clearance rate of 93%.

Securing the record top price for the Sale was lot 172, Noticed, the Strategic gelding out of Queen of Show, offered by clients of Graham Rogerson and bought by Trevor Luderick from South Australia. Lot 191, Mr Aristos by Danewin out of Princess Yeats, was sold to Roger Franklin from Queensland for $40,000. The impressive chestnut mare, Pimpala Gold, offered by Winflora Lodge, also caused a stir and was finally knocked down to Tony Dugong for $31,000.

Inglis Director Jonathan D’Arcy was very pleased with today’s results, he said “With such a large catalogue there was interest from around Australia for all categories. Many inter-state clients dealt with our staff on the phones and the strong competition from buyers created a great selling market. .”
