All the major farms had something to cheer about at the end of the season with our two most expensive sires Encosta de Lago and Redoute’s Choice fighting out the Australian general sires championship, read on to check out all the division leaders.

General Sires

Coolmore heavyweight Encosta de Lago made it back-to-back wins in the general sires division to be our overall champion sire for 2008/2009 by earnings and winners with Arrowfield Stud’s Redoute’s Choice some half a million dollars in arrears.

Vinery Stud based More Than Ready (USA) was another to claim back-to-back honours as our leading sire of juveniles.

Good performances from any number of commercial grade sires including Fastnet Rock, Dane Shadow, Shamardal (USA) and Al Maher mean this is a list that has the potential to change dramatically over the next 12 months.
